Five reasons Twickenham Fest should be on your summer calendar

August 13, 2019

Flourish is #pumped to be supporting the Twickenham Fest this year, especially since its celebrating its 10 Year Anniversary! This epic event brings together massive talent from all over the globe and delivers mind-blowing performances - for FREE - to the Rocket City.

Here's an article we authored that's also housed over at the Huntsville/Madison County CVB site, but check it out now and get ready for a week of fabulous performances!

Mark your calendars because Twickenham Fest returns to Huntsville for its 10th annual event, Aug. 20 – 25! Named Downtown Event of the Year in 2017, the free festival brings together a host of world class chamber musicians and opera singers from across the country for a series of unique and breath-taking concerts in the heart of Huntsville.

Twickenham Fest, packed with robust musical performances in some of Huntsville’s most iconic locations, is Huntsville-bred Suzanna Phillips (soprano) and Matthew McDonald’s (bassoon) gift to their hometown. Whether you grew up listening to chamber music or not, Twickenham Fest has something for everyone to enjoy. Here are our top picks for you.

Drop a beat and network with other YPs at TRILL

Young professionals looking to spice up your Tuesday evening with cocktails, music and networking: TRILL is your concert. Prepare to have your mind blown over Bartok’s Sonata

Bartok’s Sonata is one of the most challenging compositions to ever be performed, and two pianists and a percussionist from the Metropolitan Opera in New York are bringing the difficult piece to Huntsville for a can’t-miss concert. Chamber music-lovers and new fans interested in hearing a mind-blowing masterpiece, this one is especially for you.

As one of the most popular portions of the festival, this concert will fill up quickly, so don’t hesitate.

Support local talent in a new way

Huntsville’s music scene continues to grow and become an integral part of the city’s culture, but what many people don’t know is that two incredible chamber musicians grew up here in The Rocket City. Support local talent in a whole new way by being a part of Twickenham Fest. Childhood friends and Twickenham Fest founders Suzanna and Matthew will both perform throughout the weekend, and for the love of music, you must hear them for yourselves.

Those are the highlights, but there are many more outstanding concerts and magical moments throughout Twickenham Fest for you to experience. Learn more about the concerts, artists and venues and reserve your tickets today at www.TwickenhamFest.org.
