The Catalyst Center for Businesses & Entrepreneurship will offer "The 2018 Mompreneur Event" targeted just for moms who are business owners. This unique event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., at The Atrium at Redstone Federal Credit Union on Wynn Drive.
"Running a business and a family presents unique challenges - from juggling time management to struggling with mom guilt to feeling supported,' said Katie Williams, the Catalyst's WBC Project Director.
"The third annual Mompreneur Event is designed to educate, encourage, and empower mom entrepreneurs to start, grow, and manage successful businesses."
A 'Mompreneur' is a multi-tasking mother who can balance both the stresses of running a home-based business as an entrepreneur, and the time-consuming duties of motherhood at the same time," according to BusinessDictionary.com.
The 2018 Mompreneur Event will provide advice, support, and inspiration whether the attendees are active business owners or moms interested in taking the leap into entrepreneurship.
Michelle Stark, Marketing Director of Red Sage Communications Inc. and former morning anchor for WHNT, Channel 19, returns as the emcee.
The workshop will begin with three speakers addressing networking (Erin Bloxham Curtis, Owner of Boy Meets Girl Designs); time management (Jeidi Pippins, Owner of sweatlocal); and diversifying revenue streams (Ellen Didier, Founder & President of Red Sage).
The lunch panel discussion will feature successful mom entrepreneurs from the Tennessee Valley area, including:
