Flourish Fuels Local Mompreneurs Through Hands-On Conference

September 23, 2019

Flourish CEO and Founder, Megan Nivens-Tannett, is no stranger to being a Mom and managing a business.

"It's the hardest thing I've ever done, but so, so worth it." said Nivens-Tannett.

This year, the Catalyst Center for Business and Entrepreneurship hosted its fourth annual Mompreneur event, which brought in over 90 local business owners to take part in a day-long workshop geared at helping their businesses thrive. Hands-on classes, networking opportunities and panels of local, successful business owners came together with one mission: to support local Mompreneurs and help them succeed.

This year's committee, led by Nivens-Tannett,  included local business owners and members of The Catalyst team, to include Shannon Malone, Event Manager for Anne Bogel of ModernMrsDarcy.com; April Keating, owner of Cre8tive Content Co. and Katie Williams and Tracy Junkins, both with The Catalyst.

"This years event was a huge success, thanks in part to our killer committee, the support of the Catalyst and an outpouring of support from our community sponsors. The I2C at UAH, Warren Averett, Maynard Cooper & Gale, Native or Not and Rocket City Mom are just a few of them; we couldn't have done this without their support," said Nivens-Tannett. "The Catalyst programming that's available to the community is such a phenomenal resource for local business owners who need to maneuver the startup journey - they have help at every step of the way."
