We are SO excited to get back outdoors as we embrace a safer environment with the COVID-19 vaccine making its way throughout our community. 2020 brought a wealth of firsts to most of us – but one thing it also brought was a nagging few extra pounds that we’re happy to get rid of.
Well, as Spring arrives we’re itching to get outdoors and hopefully, get back into shape. Why not join us and get Fit with Flourish? We’ve identified a few fantastic opportunities to not only get a bit of exercise but to do so for a great cause.
Here’s what we’ll be supporting, and hope you think about joining us! Also, we’ll be updating this post regularly to provide updates on our fitness path – so stay tuned to hear from our team and hopefully, it’ll inspire you to get moving.
The City of Madison proudly presents County Line State of Mind 10k 5k for its inaugural race year. The course is fun, rolling hills with a constant breeze, closed to traffic, and did we mention fun?! The Start and Finish are located at James Clemens High School while the 10k and 5k routes both head out onto County Line Road.
County Line State of Mind 10k 5k raises money to fund scholarships for youth in need to attend City of Madison Parks and Recreation Department sports such as baseball, swimming, softball, and more. Funds will also be used for facility and program improvements at James Clemens High School Baseball complex.
The Alabama Kidney Foundation (AKF) was founded to assist kidney patients and has a 43-year history of serving Alabama’s kidney patient population. The AKF is dedicated to improving prevention awareness and the individual quality of life of Alabamians affected by kidney disease. Their annual Kidney Walk will be done virtually this year, and they’re encouraging folks to fundraise and come celebrate with them during a drive-through event, which will be held on May 1st, 2021.
